言語と言語の関連

世界中では色々な言語があるのに、言語のうちに同じ発音の言葉でもあります。
Even though there are hundreds of languages in the world, there are some words that have the same pronunciation regardless it is in different languages.

私はマレーシア人ですから、マレー語はもちろん、他の語さえできます。
As I am a Malaysian, I can speak a few languages fairly well due to my background.

気がついたことはマレー語と日本語の発音がなかなか似ていると思います。
I realized that Malay’s pronunciation is very similar to Japanese.

もちろん、発音を同じなのに、意味は全然違います。
Even though the pronunciation is the same, the meaning is totally different.

例えば、
For instance,

日本語での「馬鹿」という意味は阿呆なのに、マレー語で焼くという意味です。
‘Baka’ is stupid in Japanese but ‘Bakar’ means burn in Malay.

「ぶた」はマレー語で盲人という意味です。
‘Buta’ means pig in Japanese but it means ‘Blind’ in Malay.

「また」と「かき」はマレー語で体の部分ということですが、日本語では意味が全然違います。
‘Mata’ and ‘Kaki’ are parts of the body; however, it bears different meaning in Japanese.

この例は注意してください。
And these are the examples that you have to really take note:

「ちんちん」はマレー語で指輪なのに、日本語で「男性器」ということです。
‘Cincin’ means ‘Ring’ in Malay but in Japanese, it means ‘Penis’.

そして、イタリア語で「乾杯」という言葉です
‘Cincin’ can also mean ‘Kampai’ in Italian.

ですから、イタリア人は「乾杯」する時、「ちんちん」を叫びます。
So when the Italian wanna ‘kampai’, they will shout ‘cincin’ out loud.

もう一つがあり、「まんこっ」はマレー語でボウルということですが、「まんこ」は日本語でバギナです。
‘Mangkuk’ means bowl in Malay but ‘Manko’ is vagina in Japanese.

なんか、これらの言葉を間違ったら、大変大変。。
If you got mixed up with the words, it would be an interesting encounter.

中国の影響のおかげで、中国語である言葉は日本語やマレー語などに引き入れました。ですから、同じの意味と似てる発音の言葉であります。
Of course, due to adaptation of some Chinese words in various cultures decades ago, some of the Japanese words adapted from Chinese have similar pronunciation.

例えば、
For instance,

茶碗は中国語、日本語、マレー語も水を入れる器というものです。
‘Chawan’ is a teacup or a rice bowl in Japanese; ‘Cawan’ bears the same meaning in Malay as well, a teacup. ‘Cha-Wan’ is tea-cup in Chinese too.

それで、日本語である言葉は覚え易いです。
Thus, some of the words in Japanese can be memorized easily.

「カタカナ」は日本語の英語です。
‘Katakana’ is basically English in Japanese.

例えば、
For instance,

「セクハラ」は「sexual harassment」という意味です。
‘Sexual Harassment’ is ‘Seku Hara’.

「エレベーター」は「elevator」という意味です。
‘Elevator’ is ‘Erebe-ta-’

「カレー」は「curry」という意味です。
‘Curry’ is ‘Kare-’

「ナイトクラブ」は「night club」という意味です。
‘Night Club’ is ‘Naito Kurabu’

つまり、自分の知ってることを関係づけると、日本語一部の言葉を覚えることは難しくないと思います。
All in all, remembering some of the Japanese words are not hard if you can relate them to something you know.
